OPENING Performance: Addena Sumter-Freitag, a 7th Generation Canadian. She presently lives in Victoria , B.C. An actor as well as a published and award winning author. Addena’s stories and poems, will sweep you into worlds hidden, forgotten, repressed and denied. They will challenge you, confront you, caress, and console you. Move you to tears, then make you hoot with laughter, and clap your hands with joy.

MAIN Performance: Maureen Washington Canadian & International legend with “Jazz and Blues & the Sweet Notes In-Between” Maureen always delivers a thrilling, energetic and soulful performance of jazz, blues, and ballads , at times echoing the haunting tones of Etta James and Carmen McRae. She exudes the impish irreverence of Jann Arden and the vocal agility of Holly Cole, yet Maureen’s musical style remains distinctly her own. She has won several awards and released 9 albums with Harvest Moon. Canadian College of Performing Arts notes “Maureen’s effortless charisma, crystal-clear control, and room-filling stage presence is enough to inspire any audience to fall in love with jazz again.”
