The street is beside the National Little League Park on Hillside Ave., where Doug umpired generations for decades. A plaque honouring Doug was unveiled at this ballpark in June 2022. “We have a long history of multiculturalism in the city and people like Doug have played an important role in that,” said Victoria Councillor Matt Dell. “And I think that’s why it’s pretty special to be able to put that name on a road and remember it forever.” CHEK News April 13, 2024 About Doug
