Commemoration of No. 2 Construction Battalion Legacy in BC and Beyond

This commemoration event on July 26th will help to shed light here in BC on the No. 2 Construction Battalion soldiers who enlisted in BC and bravely served far from home in the First World War.
Location: LGEN E.C. Ashton Armoury, 724 Vanalman Ave, Victoria
Date: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Time: The Armoury will be open at 10am, the commemorative plaque unveiling will be at 11am.

No. 2 Construction Battalion Legacy in BC and Beyond – There were 12 soldiers who enlisted in BC and most served with the Battalion overseas, four were born in BC; the others had moved here before the war from other parts of Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe. They sailed to England in March 1917, served in France, and returned to Canada in January 1919.
