It’s here! – a 52-page illustrated publication, BC Black History Timeline, to purchase by donation
We launched a BC Black History digital timeline in 2021; and then began receiving requests for a print version. Working with a graphic design firm, we are now offering an illustrated 52-page publication to purchase by donation.
Each entry is a story of community, politics, human rights, military, discrimination, education, or employment placed in its historical and contemporary context and presents a streamlined view of the contributions of Black people to the province and to help understand how people and events fit in to different eras.
The timeline spans 190 years of events that affected Black settlement and the experiences of Black people in BC, as well as some significant events in Canada, the United States and globally.
The suggested donation for a mailed copy of the timeline publication is $15.00.
Please enter the mailing address in the box if different from the billing address and then click “buy now”.

There are almost 100 illustrations consisting of photographs, artwork, images, and other graphics—the visual record of history— and are an integral part of the Timeline.
