1975: Victoria Black People’s Society

The Society formed sometime in 1975. They focused on providing cultural and social activities and encouraging their children to learn about their history. They had an estimated 90 households as members.  One major achievement was the production of “A Catalogue of Information and Sources of Information Pertaining to Blacks in British Columbia“.
