Western Canada’s oldest maritime museum, the MMBC preserves the Pacific Northwest’s rich seafaring heritage. Its collections include stories of Black maritime workers, early settlers who arrived by sea, and the pivotal 1858 voyage that brought the first group of Black pioneers from San Francisco to Vancouver Island.
