Three workshops to celebrate and create awareness around Emancipation Day.
Emancipation Day has been recognized in Canada since August 1, 1834. This date started the end of slavery in this country, though inequality continues to this day.
These three workshops amplify Black voices, history and futures through songwriting, movement and words.
- Songwriting with Caleb Hart – Sunday, August 2nd 5-6:30pm
- Seeds & Signatures; Collard Greens with Ariel and Naming with Zarya – Wednesday, August 5th 7-8:30pm
- Dance – Embodying Emancipation with Tajah Olson – Thursday, August 6th 7-8:30pm
Supplies and snacks provided. All workshops are free and everyone is welcome.
